Marine Planner

The Our Florida Reefs Marine Planner is an online mapping tool and resource that is available for all to visualize southeast Florida coastal and ocean datasets. The Our Florida Reefs Marine Planner provides community working group members with advanced technology to aid in the development of their recommended management actions for southeast Florida reefs.

The marine planner also serves as a resource to engage all stakeholders in the process. The datasets include information such as population density, mooring buoy locations, fish densities, coral densities, and reef habitat types.

The shapefiles within the marine planner have various minimum mapping units (MMU), that is, the level of detail any given habitat is delineated to has an accuracy limit. For instance, most benthic habitat maps have an MMU of 1 acre, or accuracy of 1 acre.

The shapefiles and maps referenced by your use of the marine planner are to be used at your own risk. These maps and shapefiles are not intended to be used for navigational purposes and are not intended to be relied upon in situations where precise location information is needed or where erroneous, inaccurate, or incomplete location data may lead to death, personal injury, property or environmental damage. Neither the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida nor any content providers, guarantees the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of displayed data.
